The Power Factor Control Relay KSR is similar to the EMM5 and is used to trigger warning and switching alarms for neutral out of balance currents.

The Power Factor Control Relay KSR can be used as a neutral out of balance current relay but it also offers much more protection to the capacitor bank than the conventional neutral current device. Because the Power Factor Control Relay KSR measures the three phase currents plus the neutral, as well asthe three phase voltages, threshold limits can be set so as to give an alarm of over voltage, over current or excessive THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) for Current and Voltage, including all harmonics up to the 63rd. The Power Factor Control Relay KSR will also provide an alarmif the frequency moves outside threshold limits.

Just like the EMM5, the Power Factor Control Relay KSR has 6 output relays with common point switching and two relays with three pole volt free contacts (N/O+N/C). The relay can be programmed when purchased to the threshold points specified. The Power Factor Control Relay KSR can be supplied for supply voltage 198-253V 50/60Hz or 83-130V DC. The required operating voltage must bestated on the order.

The Power Factor Control Relay KSR will provide the owner of the h.v. capacitor bank with the following alarm information:

Low Neutral Out of Balance current detected indicating one capacitor failed

High Neutral Out of Balance current indicating more than one capacitor has failed

Over Current (possibly due to Harmonics)

Over Voltage

Over Frequency

High THD Distortion

DC Power Supply or 50/60HZ
